McCormick, Fitzpatrick, Kelly, and Langworthy Honored by Pro-Trump Senior Advocacy Group

A pro-Trump seniors group named four northeastern lawmakers to its first-ever class of congressional honorees, recognizing their records on issues affecting older Americans.

Seniors Matter for America announced this week that Sen. Dave McCormick (R-PA), Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-01), Rep. Mike Kelly (PA-16), and Rep. Nick Langworthy (NY-23) have each earned its Champion for America's Seniors designation. The group evaluates members of Congress on a range of senior policy issues, including Medicare Advantage protections, Social Security benefits, long-term care affordability, and prescription drug access.

Three of the four recipients are from Pennsylvania. Rep. McCormick, sworn into the Senate earlier this year, joins House members Fitzpatrick and Kelly on the list. Langworthy, who represents western New York's 23rd district, rounds out the northeastern contingent.

SMFA Senior Advisor Sean Spicer framed the award as an accountability tool for older voters. "Seniors are the backbone of the American electorate, and they deserve elected officials who deliver for them," he said.

The group has been active in the run-up to the midterms, running ad campaigns targeting Democrats' Medicare for All proposals and releasing polling showing senior healthcare as a top voter concern. SMFA believes that seniors will play a “critical role” for Republicans in the upcoming midterms.

The full 15-member inaugural class includes senators and representatives from across the country.
